The prerequisite for driverless shuttles is that they get from A to B safely – in both senses of the word: safely and reliably. This is where the 3F project “Driverless and fault-tolerant vehicles systems in the low-speed range” comes in and focuses on reliability. In addition to Bosch as consortium leader, three other companies, a university and a research institute were involved in the project, which was sponsored by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy: StreetScooter GmbH, RA Consulting GmbH, the FZI Research Center for Information Technology, Finepower GmbH and RWTH Aachen University.
