Karsan continues to strengthen its presence in Romania

Karsan, which has made a deal to sell 25 units of 10-meter e-ATA for the city of IASI through AAR, its esteemed Distributor in Romania, intends to deliver these vehicles at the end of the year.

Pioneering the transition of public transport in Europe to electric and autonomous vehicles, Karsan is steadily expanding its presence in Romania, one of its main target markets. Karsan, which develops Europe’s most popular models with the vision of being “One Step Ahead in the Future of Mobility“, will expand its large electric vehicle park in Romania by adding six locations to the current 22 ones at the end of the year.  

Deliveries were made in the last quarter of the year

Karsan, which previously delivered 12-meter e-ATAs to Chitila, Romania, continues transforming the world’s outstanding cities for the electric age owing to its high-tech products that attract attention with innovative design. Karsan, which secured orders totaling 36 e-ATAs from Satu Mare, Campuling, Horezu, Teccuci, and Petrosani in Romania in previous months, has now reached an agreement through AAR, its Romanian Distributor to supply 25 units of 10-meter e-ATA for IASI city. The mentioned 61 Karsan e-ATA vehicles will be delivered at the end of the year. Thus, Karsan will be operating in 28 locations across Romania with its electric vehicles following deliveries to be made at the end of the year. Stating that Romania has taken significant steps to transform vehicles in public transport to electric, Karsan CEO Okan Baş said, “We first exported born electric Karsan e-ATA to Romania at the end of 2022. As of today, our electric vehicle fleet in Romania has reached 238 units. Winning the ‘Bus of the Year’ award in the urban transportation category at the Sustainable Bus Awards, Karsan e-ATA is a model that has already proven how visionary it is. The strong interest in Karsan products is very gratifying, as we are one of the largest electric vehicle manufacturers operating in the Romanian market.Okan Baş, who reiterated that Karsan is among the most preferred brands in Europe for electric public transport, said, “In Romania, the first country where we first exported Karsan e-ATA series, a total of 79 e-ATA vehicles provide service in various cities, including Slatina, Timşoara, Braşov, and Chitila. With the e-ATA orders we received from the five cities, including IASI, at the beginning of this year, we will deliver 61 more 10-, 12-, and 18-meter e-ATAs to Romania at the end of 2024. Owing to our innovative products, we will continue making a name for ourselves globally.

Different battery packs were offered

e-ATA, which means the family’s elder in Turkish, consists of the largest bus models from Karsan’s electric product range. Innately electric e-ATA can quickly respond to needs by offering advanced flexibility in many fields, from battery technologies to carrying capacity. The e-ATA product family has different battery packs from 150 kWh to 600 kWh. The family offers a range of up to 450 kilometers under real driving conditions, in which the bus stops to unload and load passengers while moving on an ordinary route with maximum carrying capacity, and the air-conditioner runs continuously. Moreover, thanks to its fast-charging technology, it can be charged for one to four hours, depending on the size of its battery pack.
