Successful start for the Truck Efficiency Run powered by Krone

Successful start for the Truck Efficiency Run powered by Krone
The Truck Efficiency Run powered by Krone was successfully completed.

The first Truck Efficiency Run powered by Krone was a resounding success: as part of the Truck Grand Prix 2025 at the Nürburgring, professional drivers from all over Germany proved that true efficiency is not just a matter of data sheets – it is based on the interplay between driving style and technology.

In a competition on the Nordschleife, the most efficient drivers in their drive category were determined under real conditions. The lucky winners of the first Truck Efficiency Run are:

  • Diesel category: Colin Guppy (Hövelmann Logistik GmbH & Co. KG)
  • LNG category: Lukasz Marszal (Reinert Logistics GmbH & Co. KG)
  • Electric category: Rolf Isermann (Duvenbeck GmbH & Co. KG)

Three drivers were recognised as the most efficient drivers under real conditions in the diesel, LNG and electric categories.

All three impressed with their conscious, forward-looking driving style and demonstrated how much efficiency potential can be unleashed in everyday life – regardless of the vehicle or drive system used.

Simon Richenhagen, Head of Marketing at Krone Trailer, is highly satisfied: “With the Efficiency Run, we wanted to show how transport efficiency can be measured under real conditions – and how crucial the person behind the wheel is in this regard. After all, it is the professional drivers who are on the road with the vehicles every day and make the difference with their driving style. Technology alone is not enough – it only unleashes its potential in experienced hands. The positive response confirms that this topic is moving the industry at exactly the right time.”

The eTrailer also demonstrated the potential of sustainable trailer technology.

A special highlight of the competition: the eTrailer from the partnership between Krone and Trailer Dynamics also took part outside of the competition and clearly demonstrated that when drive technology meets predictive driving, the result is efficiency potential that is already having an impact today. Its savings potential, between 40 and 50 percent fuel depending on the application profile, impressively demonstrates how intelligent trailer technology can significantly reduce CO₂ emissions in freight transport.

Efficiency is teamwork. That was the central message of the event. Krone would like to thank all participants, partners and supporters for a successful start.
