ast week, new sanitary containers with shower and toilet facilities for truck drivers were put into operation in the service park of the GVZ Bremen.

Last week, new sanitary containers with shower and toilet facilities for truck drivers were put into operation in the service park of the GVZ Bremen. The containers, which are located on the premises of the central GVZ catering and operating company, Das Backhaus, are now available to all truck drivers for free use.

The commissioning of the containers was implemented by the initiative #Logistikhilft in cooperation with the GVZ Entwicklungsgesellschaft Bremen and the Backhaus. Further supporters are the Straßenverkehrsgenossenschaft Bremen, the Landesverband Verkehrsgewerbe Bremen and the City of Bremen. Krone Managing Director Dr. Frank Albers was also on site during the commissioning. “Krone has been supporting numerous projects that make the everyday life of truck drivers easier for decades, which is why we were one of the first supporters of this great initiative. Not only since the outbreak of the Corona pandemic it has become very clear that the basic supply of the population cannot function without the transport industry. That’s why we are happy to do our part to improve the everyday life of drivers. And it goes without saying that the sanitary containers in Germany’s oldest GVZ Bremen, incidentally also the No. 1 in Europe, are well positioned“.

About #Logistikhilft

Krone is one of the first supporters of the #Logistikhilft campaign, which was launched in April. #Logistikhilft is a joint initiative of the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI), the Federal Association of Road Haulage Logistics and Waste Disposal (BGL), the Logistics Alliance Germany (LAG), the Fraunhofer IML and the non-profit association DocStop / SaniStop. The aim of the initiative is to support all those involved in transport and logistics operations and thus ensure the supply of goods to society and the economy. This is especially true with regard to fair and appropriate working conditions for truck drivers. Patrons of the initiative are Federal Minister Andreas Scheuer and the Federal Government’s Coordinator for Freight Transport and Logistics, Parliamentary State Secretary Steffen Bilger.

#Logistikhilft sees itself as an open platform for all suppliers and demanders of transport and logistics services, which on the one hand promotes existing relief actions and on the other hand creates new actions. In addition, there is a common basic understanding that #Logistikhilft is not a one-off action, but should continue to offer support to those who need it.
