While identifying new target markets and expanding the range of products in its stronghold regions, Karsan makes delivery at full speed as required by the tenders it has won. Accordingly, Karsan delivered the first vehicles of the tender it won from TPER in Italy.
Order worth 18.2 million Euros
TPER, the largest passenger transport company in the Emilia-Romagna region, plays an active role in the public transport transformation of Bologna as a public company providing this service in the city. The first deliveries of 18-meter e-ATA vehicles to TPER were carried out with a ceremony in Maggiore Square in Bologna. Karsan CEO Okan Baş, Halit Özgür Altınsoy, Karsan Country Manager, and Seda Neşe, Karsan Europe Regional Sales Manager were also present at the ceremony conducted in Maggiore Square in Bologna, along with Governor Matteo Lepore, Councilor Valentina Orioli, Andrea Corsini, Councilor of Emilia Romagna Region for Transport and Infrastructure, TPER Senior Manager Andrea Bottazzi, TPER President and CEO Giuseppina Gualtieri and TPER Corporate Director Paolo Paolillo. Karsan CEO Okan Baş, pointing out that the contract they signed last year was worth 18.2 million Euros, said: “With the tender we won from TPER, Karsan e-ATA vehicles, which will start to render service in Bologna, have become the city’s first electric 18-meter vehicles and Italy’s first 18-meter electric vehicles featuring pantograph technology.”
The number of Karsan-branded electric vehicles to reach 1000
Emphasizing the steps taken by Karsan for global growth in electric vehicles, Okan Baş stated: “Following our e-JEST and e-ATAK models, which are more assertive than one another, we are pleased to enter the Italian market again with e-ATA. We will continue to grow stronger and faster in this country, the heart of the automotive industry. We will double our electric vehicle fleet of 50 units in Italy to 100 by the end of 2023. At the end of this year, we will have 1000 Karsan electric vehicles in use throughout Europe and North America thanks to our continued growth in Italy and our target countries.”
