Karsan entered the Canadian market at the beginning of the year through Damera, its distributor. Karsan, this time, has also reached an agreement with its business partner for the American market.

Pioneering the public transport sector’s transformation through its cutting-edge products, Karsan continues to strengthen its footprint abroad. Karsan, which continues to make an impression, especially in the European market, with the tenders it has won, has made another move for North America, one of the significant markets it has focused on. Karsan, which previously signed a distributorship agreement with Damera to enter the North American market from Canada, has now shaken hands with its business partner for the US market. Karsan, which made delivery of 15 vehicles to Oakville in the second quarter of the year, is to rapidly increase its presence in the US market owing to the new distributorship agreement made with Damera.

Our global collaborations continue

Revealing that they have determined North America as the target market after Europe, Karsan CEO Okan Baş stated, “Our global collaborations continue. In this context, we rapidly and ambitiously entered the North American market from Canada at the beginning of the year. We have recently initiated a distributorship agreement with Damera, our distributor in this market, for the United States. Thanks to this agreement, we aim to achieve rapid growth in North America as we have done in Europe.”

One hundred vehicles to be delivered by the end of the year

Okan Baş, who highlighted 20 feet long Karsan e-JEST as Canada’s first low-floor electric minibus offering public transport services, which has been carrying passengers in Saint John since September, said: “In the North American market, we also aim to show the success of what we have achieved in Europe. In line with our vision of ‘being one step ahead in the future of mobility’, it is time for the USA in our journey of electrifying public transport in the world. Today, we have 30 e-JEST vehicles serving locals in Saint John, Oakville, and Happy Valley in Canada. With this agreement inked for the US market after Canada, our electric e-JEST vehicle park in North America will reach one hundred units by the end of the year with the new deliveries we will make.
