The European Truck Racing Association (ETRA), the promoter of the Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship (ETRC) is thrilled to announce the debut of Truck Racing in the prestigious FIA Motorsport Games

The Truck Racing Cup will join 26 different disciplines in the one-of-a-kind event from 23-27 October 2024 at Circuit Ricardo Tormo, in Valencia Spain, promising to showcase the exciting world of truck racing on an international stage.

Drivers from the Goodyear FIA ETRC as well as international racers who compete in truck racing championships from around the world, are poised to make history as they proudly represent their respective nations while competing in the FIA Motorsport Games. Their participation underscores the growing recognition and popularity of truck racing as a dynamic and adrenaline-fuelled motorsport discipline.

The format will feature two 30-minute-long practice session, followed by qualifying. A qualifying race will then set the grid order for the 35-minute main race which will determine the medal-awarding positions.

The FIA Motorsport Games stands as a unique event, embodying the spirit of unity and competition by bringing nations together through the power of motorsport. By uniting sport, culture, and education, the event fosters an environment that celebrates the values of respect, unity, and equal opportunities, while also championing diversity and inclusivity in an unparalleled manner, mirroring the shared values of the #onetruckfamily.

ETRA Managing Director Georg Fuchs expressed his excitement about the inclusion of truck racing in this unique event: “It’s truly thrilling for truck racing to be included in the FIA Motorsport Games for the first time ever this year in Valencia. We have a stellar roster of drivers who are not only passionate about representing their nations but also dedicated to showcasing the thrill and excitement of truck racing to a global audience.

We’re thrilled to not only bring the excitement of truck racing to the FIA Motorsport Games but also offer enthusiasts the opportunity to experience it firsthand,” said Janine Meyer, Director of Operations at ETRA. “We also have a few trucks available from some teams. If anyone likes to try their hands at a new discipline, get in contact.

Marek Nawarecki, FIA Senior Circuit Sport Director, said: “Diversity and inclusivity is at the very heart of the FIA Motorsport Games and with the addition of truck racing to the programme, we’re going to have a line-up of disciplines as diverse as it can possibly be. Truck racing is a popular form of motor sport in some countries in Asia or South America, so the FIA Motorsport Games represent a unique opportunity for the competitors from these series to face each other on track, and for truck racing itself to have an event on a scale unseen to date. It should also be a very special show for the fans gathered trackside in Valencia this October.

Stéphane Ratel, who co-founded the FIA Motorsport Games with the FIA, said: “Our dream for the FIA Motorsport Games is to have a range of motorsport categories that are as broad and diverse as possible. Having Truck Racing now part of the Games for 2024 certainly fits that ambition. We have no doubt that the Truck Racing battle for the gold medal is going to be an incredible fan favourite in Valencia, and I can’t wait to see them in action – drivers flying the flag for their home nation.

Details about the line up will be announced in due course.
