Europe and Türkiye’s leading trailer manufacturer Krone has marked yet another achievement that highlights Türkiye’s production power and strategic importance. As part of its ongoing collaboration with logistics giant DFDS, 1,050 trailers have been delivered to DFDS Türkiye & Europe South BU. This delivery stands as a significant milestone, reflecting the current level of trailer production in Türkiye and the industrial bridge built with Europe.
Kartal Erköy: “The Power of Turkish Manufacturing“
Speaking at the delivery ceremony, Krone Ticari Araçlar Managing Director Kartal Erköy emphasized Türkiye’s production capabilities and ongoing investments: “Krone’s manufacturing journey in Türkiye began in 2012 at our Tire plant with just two models. Today, we produce 24 different models in our 230,000 m² modern facility. This transformation showcases the strength of Türkiye’s industrial capacity and logistics infrastructure. The delivery of 1,050 trailers to DFDS is a concrete indicator of our engineering competence and production capabilities. We owe this success to our qualified workforce, innovative approach, and lean manufacturing methods.”

Following Erköy, Fahrzeugwerk Bernard Krone Managing Director Ingo Geerdes emphasized Türkiye’s role in this significant partnership and the ongoing strategic collaboration with DFDS: “We have had a strong and long-standing partnership with DFDS in Europe, and over the past 10 years, we’ve delivered more than 4,200 trailers. With today’s delivery in Türkiye, we once again witness how solidly this trust-based relationship has been built. I believe this cooperation will open new doors for DFDS, Türkiye’s logistics sector, and regional trade.”
Andreas Völker: “Production Integration and Market Confidence“
Commenting on the production integration between Krone’s Türkiye and Germany operations, Krone Trailer International Director of International Business Development, Sales & Key Accounts, Andreas Völker highlighted the global synergy involved in the delivery: “Of the 1,050 trailers delivered, 850 curtain-sided trailers were produced in Tire, Türkiye, and 200 dry liner trailers were manufactured at our Herzlake facility in Germany. This is a strong indication of Krone’s global integration capabilities and flexible production structure. Today, our Tire plant serves not only locally but as a strategic production hub on a global scale. Thanks to the confidence of our German headquarters in Türkiye, we operate with state-of-the-art infrastructure and export to 33 countries from Türkiye. In addition, we continue to hold the largest foreign trailer investment in the country. Our 25% market share clearly demonstrates our commitment to this market.”
