The 17th edition of the SOLUTRANS trade show, to be held from 21 to 25 November 2023 at Lyon Eurexpo, will be a strategic meeting place for all stakeholders in the freight transport sector. Already fully booked since June, SOLUTRANS has become Europe’s biggest event for the transport sector, reinforcing its key role in energy transition in the field of mobility. The theme for this year’s event is “How to incorporate the HGV-LCV industry into a low-carbon sector“.
An exhibition with international reputation
With nearly 27% of international exhibitors registered to date, the exhibition confirms an already well-established international presence. About twenty European countries, including Italy, Germany, Turkey, the Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Belgium, the United Kingdom… will be represented. In addition, SOLUTRANS Digital Show, a unique virtual experience reflecting Solutrans, returns for a 2nd edition after a successful launch in 2021. It will allow online visitors, regardless of their geographical location and the time they connect, to immerse themselves in SOLUTRANS through an interactive platform. They will be able to visit exhibitor booths, discover their latest innovations, get in touch with them, but also have remote access to conference replays.
Understanding alternative energies
The decarbonization of transport is a major challenge, requiring innovative solutions. Faced with the evolution of European standards, the FFC, organizer of the event, emphasizes education and clarity for sometimes bewildered professionals. SOLUTRANS 2023 will highlight alternative energies in the context of the European Union’s “Fit for 55” package. Reducing greenhouse gas emissions is crucial, and several technologies will coexist. The VIsion’AIR study will be unveiled, offering an independent perspective on the future of energy sources for transport. Engaged conferences will address gas, electric, biofuels, and retrofit, providing solutions for cleaner mobility. Finally, SOLUTRANS has chosen to organize its offering around three fundamental stages in a client’s journey: workshops on alternative energies, a test village to experience new vehicles and understand their quality, and a dedicated space for banking and insurance to know how to finance and insure them.
Embracing the models of tomorrow urban logistics
In parallel, SOLUTRANS 2023 will examine the future of urban logistics, faced with growing access constraints in city centers with the advent of Low Emission Zones (LEZ). For the first time, a cargo bike area will be present at the heart of hall 1. The electric cargo bike will emerge as a fast and eco-responsible solution for the last kilometers of delivery. This approach reduces fuel consumption, emissions, and noise, thus helping to decongest urban centers. About fifteen booths will showcase solutions for this last-meter delivery. An indoor test track will put cargo bikes in various urban environments.
