SAF-HOLLAND is represented in China with a new factory. The globally active supplier for commercial vehicle parts will be manufacturing its entire product range at the Yangzhou site in the future. Strategic targets: ensuring optimum supply to local customers and expanding shares in the strongly growing Chinese market.
SAF-HOLLAND expands its activities in China: The suspension specialist, who has been active in the People’s Republic with production sites for more than 20 years, has made a name for itself with know-how, high-quality products and future- oriented systems for trucks and trailers. The company now goes one step further: It increases its production capacities with a best-in-class factory in the city of Yangzhou (Jiangsu province), expanding its business in China. “With the investment in this location, we are now in an even better position and can operate in close proximity to our customers. We have also created ideal conditions for successfully tapping into the growth potentials for commercial vehicle components in China,” explains SAF-HOLLAND CEO Alexander Geis.
SAF-HOLLAND: Best-in-class manufacturing in China
The opening of the new production facility was attended by the members of the SAF- HOLLAND management as well as by representatives of the city council, authorities and regional administration. Jürgen Knott, President China at SAF-HOLLAND, emphasises: “The new site in China is equipped with best-in-class production equipment, provides SAF-HOLLAND with a basis for further growth and strengthens our position as a premium manufacturer.”
The proximity to potential commercial vehicle customers was the deciding factor for the new subsidiary in the east of the People’s Republic. In Yangzhou, SAF- HOLLAND will be bundling its future activities in China. The suspension specialist expects increased efficiency from the shorter paths and the improved cost situation at the new location. The production buildings and offices with around 46,600 square metres floor area were built on a site with almost 72,000 square metres in Yangzhou in just eight months. 134 employees currently work here in production and administration. Production focuses on axles from the CBX, MODUL, Low- Loader and Restart series, including the suspension systems, as well as a large part of the landing gear range.
