Following the start of pre-sales for the new Caddy models production is now also underway. The first Caddy models from model year 2025 will be in dealerships in Germany from the end of May. Leading the way will be the new design highlight of the Caddy series: the Caddy Edition. This is available as a normal or long version (Maxi) and as a Cargo version – an urban delivery vehicle for tradespeople, small businesses or delivery services. And it is naturally also available as passenger van for people who regularly transport children and prams, family and friends, or who have big hobbies – and want to transport bicycles, surfboards or their pets.
The Caddy Cargo Edition also impresses as a special-edition model with black design elements and additional equipment based on the Caddy Life model.
All Caddy models, including the Edition, will initially be offered with two TSI petrol engines with 85 kW – optionally with manual or automatic gearbox – and two TDI engines. The TDI with an output of 75 kW has a six-speed manual gearbox, while the 90 kW variant has a seven-speed DSG. Further engine and gearbox variants will follow in 2024. A number of Caddy Cargo model variants such as the 4MOTION all-wheel drive and the Caddy PanAmericana are already available to order. These will also be available to order as passenger variants later on this year.
“The Caddy from Poznań has been a genuine success story since 2003, and this will be continued with the start of production of the new variants”, says Stefanie Hegels, CEO of Volkswagen Poznań. “With even more assist systems and the adapted engine and gearbox combinations, the model year 2025 offers a host of new features. The Caddy Edition in particular – which is now being ramped up in our production – is naturally a real eye-catcher.”
The model year 2025 Caddy and Caddy Cargo as well as the Caddy Edition variants from Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles will be upgraded with numerous assist systems. All model variants now have a digital instrument cluster as standard, and the passenger variants have a new, larger infotainment system with a 10-inch display. In future, the IDA voice assistant will be available as an option – this will additionally come with ChatGPT function in conjunction with VW Connect Plus. In future, all Caddy models will be equipped as standard with Dynamic Road Sign Display, cruise control system, Park Distance Control, and Advanced Driver Attention & Drowsiness Monitor. The Cargo versions include additional systems such as additional side and curtain airbags, a multifunction camera, Tyre Pressure Loss Indicator, Lane Assist and Front Assist with Pedestrian and Cyclist Monitoring. Another new standard feature in the Cargo is the multifunction steering wheel, which is already available in the passenger versions.
In addition to the roof painted in high-gloss black (also optionally available with an integrated panoramic sunroof), the Caddy Edition is specifically equipped with black roof rails, privacy glass and LED light units at the front and rear. A black ventilation grille at the front, a rear spoiler with black underside as well as black-painted mirror covers and sliding door rails round off the design. The contrasting effect of these Edition features is particularly strong against the Candy White exterior paintwork. However, the Caddy Edition is also available in nine other colours that equally reflect its elegant design look. The front and rear bumpers are painted in the vehicle colour. Lettering on the rear and sides clearly shows that this is an Edition model. As standard, this special Caddy is fitted with 17-inch alloy wheels in black; 18-inch wheels are available as optional equipment for the passenger variants.
In Germany, prices for the Caddy Edition start at 28,680 euros net (31,261 euros gross) for the normal-wheelbase Cargo, and at 30,920 euros net (36,795 euros gross) for the passenger variants. As the long Maxi versions, the Caddy Cargo Edition starts at 30,695 euros net (36,527 euros gross), while the long passenger variants of the Caddy Edition start at 33,395 euros net (39,740 euros gross).
