A new factory in the Moscow region strengthens the presence of SAF-HOLLAND in Russia. From early 2022 SAF INTRA axles are set to be manufactured at this production site to meet the demand in the largest country on Earth.
With its high-quality products, long-standing experience and forward-looking systems for trucks and trailers, SAF-HOLLAND is a renowned manufacturer in the commercial vehicles industry worldwide. The suspension specialist is currently investing in a new site near Moscow to expand its manufacturing capacities in Russia: “Russia is already one of our most important regional markets worldwide and displays excellent growth perspectives, even over the long term“, says Alexander Geis, Chairman of the Management Board of SAF-HOLLAND SE, and adds, “With this new production site, we are investing in profitable growth in line with our Strategy 2025.“
Christoph Günter, President EMEA at SAF-HOLLAND, says: “With our factory in Moscow, we are making a clear commitment to the Russian market and our local customers, with whom we have already established close relationships in recent years. By choosing a location in the metropolitan Moscow region, we will be even more flexible in the future, operating close to our customers and delivering the usual SAF-HOLLAND quality.” Local manufacturing shortens the delivery and reaction times while also complying with Russian legislation for promoting local production.
Production site for the SAF INTRA series
The 4,000-m2 factory is ideally situated near the motorway and airport and will be the workplace of ten administrative personnel and around 50 production workers in a two-shift system. SAF INTRA axles with disc and drum brakes are produced for the local market. The production systems are state-of-the-art and meet all environmental guidelines of the Russian state.
