“We continue to implement the innovations that shape the future“
Karsan, which introduced its e-ATA Hydrogen model to the world, on the occasion of the IAA Transportation Fair held in Germany in September 2022, has taken a crucial step to strengthen its claim in hydrogen technology and advance further in this field. As part of this progress, the company signed a cooperation agreement with Toyota, one of the world’s leading automobile and technology manufacturers. Within the scope of this cooperation, Karsan will constantly diversify its technological solutions by using Toyota’s Fuel Cell Module as an alternative in its hydrogen vehicles. Stating that Karsan permanently strives to offer its customers the best service, Karsan CEO Okan Baş said, “As Karsan, our progress in advanced technologies continues unabated. Beyond being the pioneer in mobility, we always aim for the best through future-shaping innovations, with the desire to achieve better. Accordingly, we keep our motivation to be a brand offering our customers the most reliable and best-performing mobility solutions with our being ‘One Step Ahead in the Future of Mobility’ vision.” Emphasizing their high pleasure due to the cooperation with a strong brand such as Toyota, Okan Baş said,
“Through this cooperation, we are very proud to include Toyota, a brand that has proven itself worldwide in hydrogen technology, among our business partners. Toyota, Japan’s giant industrial power, is known for more than 30 years of hydrogen technology experience in a broad range from automotive to maritime transport, from trains to freight transport. Hydrogen is an area we, as Karsan, consider a priority in environmentally friendly and innovative technologies. With e-ATA Hydrogen launched at the end of 2022, we put this vision forward. Owing to this robust cooperation, we are taking our claim in the field of hydrogen even further by getting strength from Japanese technology.” Thiebault Paquet, Vice President of Toyota Hydrogen Factory Europe stated: “We strongly believe that Hydrogen will play a crucial role in future decarbonization of public transport. That’s why we are more than happy to extend our cooperation and supply Karsan with our Fuel Cell Modules, together working towards a hydrogen society.”
Latest generation Fuel Cell Modules (85 kW) to be used
Toyota’s fuel cell vehicles have proven their reliability, durability, and efficiency by covering more than 20 million kilometers in total. As part of this cooperation, Karsan’s hydrogen buses equipped with Toyota Fuel Cell Modules are expected to be released to the market in 2025.
